Meet Katie Snapp, DDS, MSD
“My dad is an orthodontist and my biggest cheerleader. Working with him and watching him love his job inspired me to become an orthodontist. It's been such a rewarding decision!
I love perfecting the details and finishing touched that make a so-so smile into a showstopper.
This can be the most challenging part of orthodontics, but the end results when we get it just right are the best reward!”
Education and Experience
Before becoming an orthodontist, Dr. Katie's dreams changed often. Depending on the day, she wanted to be a veterinarian, an astronaut, a paleontologist, a concert violinist, and even a Broadway star.
As proof of her diverse talents and interests, Dr. Katie double-majored in the violin and philosophy during her undergraduate education.
Dr. Katie made her final career choice and earned her DDS degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. She earned the Alpha Omega award for the highest graduating GPA. She was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the dental honors society.
She then completed her orthodontic residency at the University of Texas, Houston, and earned her orthodontic certificate and a Masters of Science in Dentistry.
Board-Certified Smile Expert
Following her residency, she passed additional testing to become board-certified with the American Board of Orthodontics.
In the midst of all of these accomplishments, Dr. Katie is most proud of the hard work she has put into advancing her career while raising her four daughters to be kind, curious, and driven.
Outside of the Office
Dr. Katie and her husband (a Kingwood native) love living in the area and raising their children close to family.
As a mother of four little girls, most of Dr. Katie's free time is spent playing dress-up, coloring, pretending to be a mermaid, and cleaning up glitter crafts. When she has the chance, she enjoys playing the violin, weight-lifting, and running.
On the weekends, you can often find her with family and friends. Sometimes that means fishing or wakeboarding at the lake, camping, hiking, or visiting family in the mountains for a chance to play in the snow and share her tips for making the perfect s'mores.
You may even find her in an intense game of Dungeons and Dragons or singing along with every song she hears.
